Community Guidelines
Last updated: September 12, 2026
HQ is an adult-only (18+) space for artists, crew, and fans to connect with respect, creativity, and safety. These guidelines apply to everything you do in the Service—including posts, comments, reactions, direct messages, shows, mini games, and profile details. Violations may lead to content removal, feature limits, or account suspension.
1. Core Values
- Respect & Care Treat everyone—artists, fans, staff—with empathy. Assume good intent, but hold each other accountable.
- Authenticity Be honest about who you are. No impersonation, coordinated misinformation, or deceptive conduct.
- Inclusion & Safety Celebrate diverse identities and experiences. Make the community welcoming for LGBTQ+ people, people of color, people with disabilities, and all underrepresented groups.
2. What’s Encouraged
- Thoughtful comments, questions, and reactions about music, shows, culture, and community life
- Sharing your experiences, photos, or videos from events (when you have permission to share them)
- Positive engagement in XP challenges, ScrewdlJump leaderboards, and screws as signs of appreciation
- Location-based discovery that helps others find relevant shows or meetups
- Constructive feedback submitted through in-app support or feedback tools
- Creative self-promotion in designated communities such as HQ Music Global. You can share your music, DJ sets, and related work there.
3. Prohibited Conduct
- Hate & Harassment
- Slurs, insults, or threats targeting protected characteristics (race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious disease).
- Any targeting of minorities or underrepresented groups, including LGBTQ+ people, because of their identity or perceived identity.
- Targeted harassment, coordinated brigading, or stalking in posts or direct messages.
- Violence & Illegal Activity
- Threats of violence, self-harm encouragement, or property damage.
- Promotion of illegal activity, including illicit drugs, weapons trafficking, or ticket fraud.
- Sexual & Exploitative Content
- Any sexual or exploitative content involving a minor, including child sexual abuse material, grooming, or sexualization of minors. We may preserve and report this material to competent authorities where required.
- Non-consensual sexual content, exploitation, or solicitation.
- Extremism & Disinformation
- Praise, support, or recruitment for extremist organizations.
- Deliberate spreading of demonstrably false information that risks public harm.
- Spam & Commercial Promotion
- Repetitive posts, deceptive links, unrelated advertising, or abusive sales funnels. These remain spam even where creative self-promotion is welcome.
- Selling or trading access, accounts, screws, XP, or mini-game boosts.
- Privacy Violations
- Doxxing, sharing personal contact info, photos, or precise whereabouts without consent.
- Posting private communications or screenshots without the sender’s permission (unless reporting abuse to us or authorities).
- Location Misuse
- Sharing someone else’s location, live updates, or private events without consent.
- Falsifying location data to deceive others or obtain unfair advantages.
- Cheating & Exploits
- Manipulating XP, screws, leaderboards, or mini games via automation, exploits, or multiple accounts.
- Reverse engineering or interfering with safety, analytics, or anti-cheat systems.
- Intellectual Property & Authenticity
- Uploading content you do not own or have permission to share.
- Impersonating artists, crew, staff, or other fans.
- Security & Abuse of Tools
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access, phish credentials, or distribute malware.
- Misusing reporting, blocking, or feedback features to target others.
4. Direct Messages & Private Interactions
- Direct messages are still subject to these guidelines. Abuse through DMs (harassment, spam, unsolicited explicit material) is prohibited.
- Respect boundaries. If someone blocks you, do not try to contact them through alternate accounts.
- You may block users. Blocking hides both users from each other's profiles, feeds, attendance lists, and direct messages. Use the in-message Report action for threatening or abusive DMs; it sends the selected message, limited surrounding context, and attachment references to authorized moderators.
5. Screws, XP & Mini Games
- Screws, XP, and mini-game scores are symbolic appreciation—never a currency. Do not buy, sell, or pressure others for them.
- Play fairly. Any attempt to automate gameplay, falsify results, or exploit bugs will result in removal of scores and possible suspension.
- Celebrate friendly competition by remaining respectful in leaderboards and challenge chats.
6. Shows & Location Features
- Share reliable information about events, venues, and meetups. Speculation or misinformation that could disrupt events is not allowed.
- Do not post or request private addresses, hotel information, or backstage locations without explicit consent.
- Keep live location updates enabled only when you are comfortable. Disable them if you feel unsafe.
- Free-entry, half priced, and skip list offers are personal. Do not sell, trade, transfer, or obtain them through false accounts, false check-ins, or manipulated XP.
- Decline an offer if you cannot attend. A half priced offer shows the amount payable and currency before you accept it. Skip list places provide full-price entry without queuing. If you accept, use an accurate entry name and check in at the show. HQ displays the price but does not collect payment or provide an automated ticket-provider integration. The confirmation screen states the no-show consequence before you accept.
- Artists must protect guest-list names and use them only for the relevant show's entry or ticket delivery. After all finalized entry details have been sent, make one confirmation for the pool. HQ or an administrator handles disputes and attendance corrections.
- A no-show consequence applies only when an accepted offer is finalized and the artist has confirmed that all finalized entry details were sent. HQ may remove 500 XP from each community in which the person is then an active member and exclude the person from free-entry, half priced, and skip list distribution for three calendar months.
7. Reporting, Moderation & Appeals
- Use the in-app “Report” control on supported posts, comments, and direct messages to flag Community Guidelines violations. Reports are grouped by content item and reason so the same issue does not need to be re-decided repeatedly.
- Current reporting categories are listed below. Self-promotion is not available when a designated community explicitly welcomes it:
- self-promotion
- spam
- hate speech
- violence
- privacy violations
- We may ask you to choose a more specific subcategory such as slur, doxxing, fake giveaway, repetitive content, or direct threat so moderators can review the right context faster.
- Community reports can be aggregated and weighted based on account role and abuse-prevention signals. If a threshold is reached, content may be temporarily hidden pending moderator review.
- Temporary auto-hiding is precautionary only. Final removal or approval decisions are made by a moderator.
- Reporter identities are not shown to the content author.
- False, coordinated, or abusive reporting is itself a policy violation and may lead to feature restrictions or account action.
- We aim to review reports within 72 hours. For urgent safety issues, contact local authorities first and inform us.
- When we remove content or restrict an account, we send a notice with the key reasons (unless doing so would enable abuse or violate law).
- You can reply to moderation emails or contact legal@untether.social if you believe a decision was made in error. Provide relevant context for review.
- To report illegal content or copyright infringement, email legal@untether.social with the exact URL or content identifier, the right or law involved, your explanation and evidence, contact details, and a good-faith accuracy statement. The full copyright and counter-notice process is in the Terms of Service.
8. Keep Guidelines Handy
We may update these guidelines to reflect new features or legal requirements. We will give appropriate notice of significant updates and request affirmative acceptance where law requires it.
Thank you for helping us build a respectful, energized community around the music we love.
